Exciting news awaits those looking for a Digital Technology and Culture study abroad opportunity. DTC Pullman faculty June Sanders and Jacob Riddle will lead the study abroad program “Animation, Design, and Activism” in Berlin from May 13th to June 7th, 2024. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to explore the rich history and culture of Berlin while earning 3–6 academic credits.

Berlin’s reputation as one of the biggest design capitals in the world was a key factor in the destination selection, as Sanders notes. The city is known for its innovative and forward-thinking art, fashion, and architecture scenes, making it an ideal location for students interested in design and creativity. Apart from being a design capital, Riddle highlights that Berlin’s cultural and historical significance played a pivotal role in the decision-making process. The city is known for its diverse architecture and world-class museums. During the program, students will have the opportunity to visit different monuments, memorials, and contemporary art spaces.

The deadline to apply for the program is February 1st, 2024. Five scholarships of $1,000 each are available and will be given out to students who complete the financial need section of the application. More information and a link to the application for the trip are on WSU’s Study Abroad site.
