DTC Career Panel – Vancouver
In October, DTC Vancouver hosted a Career Panel featuring alumni from the program. A big thank you to John Alexander (Senior Motion Graphic Designer, Payscale), Jarid Schoenlein (Web Developer, Dick Hannah Dealerships), Hunter Crawford (Senior Video Production Manager, ZoomInfo), Kylie Sickles (Graphic Design Specialist, Waste Connections), Jessica Miralrio (Graphic Design, OMSI), and Josh Thatcher (Partner, Digital Platforms, Cisco) for helping our undergraduates understand the job market for their future success!

| Terry Buffington Foundation Presents – Urban Bush Women: This Is Risk Tour The Terry Buffington Foundation will host the Brooklyn-based dance company Urban Bush Women for a five-day program, February 9–14, 2026. Founded by choreographer Jawole Willa Jo Zollar, Urban Bush Women is a Black women–led ensemble known for its powerful blend of performance, community engagement, and storytelling rooted in the African diaspora. On Tuesday, February 10, UBW will lead workshops in WSU Daggy Hall – Jones Theater (9:00–10:25 AM and 10:35–11:50 AM), introducing their collaborative approach to artmaking along with Mindful Bodies & Reflective Practices: a participatory session focused on self-care and holistic community well-being. No dance experience is required. The program culminates in the Urban Bush Women – This Is Risk performance on Friday, February 13th, at 7:30 PM at the Kenworthy Performing Arts Centre in Moscow, ID. The following evening, February 14th, the foundation will hold its 3rd Annual Southern Dinner Fundraiser at the Pullman Courtyard Marriott from 7:00–10:00 PM, featuring a silent auction and a celebration of art, culture, and community. |
Christopher Dreger
Christopher Dreger currently has a painting exhibition on view at the Clackamas Arts Alliance. Chris Dreger: Acrylic & Oil on Canvas is on view until February 3rd, 2026. The exhibition is located at the Public Services Building – Entry Gallery: 2051 Kaen Rd., Oregon City, OR 97045.
Dreger is also leading a cohort of WSU independent study students—primarily from DTC with one Computer Science major—in developing an installation for the Portland Winter Light Festival in February 2026. The project centers on projection mapping, using video projection and specialized software to align imagery onto irregular surfaces, creating immersive, dynamic visual environments.
Dene Grigar
Dene Grigar (Vancouver) co-hosted the Future of Text in XR Symposium on Thursday, November 27th at The Royal Society in London. The event was funded by The Alfred P. Sloan Foundation and supported by Ismail Serageldin, Founding Director of the new Library of Alexandria (Egypt). She also presented a paper at the event, entitled “Making Physical Artifacts from Virtual Museums Accessible.”
Her essay, “Hypertextual Thinking: A Method for Resistance in David Kolb’s Hypertext as Resistance,” was accepted for publication in the collection Joy of Electronic Literature by Amherst University Press.
She was also elected to serve as Treasurer of the Electronic Literature Organization, an international arts organization founded in 1999. Grigar has served previously as the organization’s President (2013–2019), Vice-President (2010–2013), and Treasurer (2006–2009).
She also now serves on WSU’s Faculty Senate International Affairs Committee.
Seoryung Samantha Park
Professor Sam Park’s work has been featured in several juried and group exhibitions across the country and internationally. Her paintings appeared in Poetry in Painting with the Ladies Drawing Club (UK, online), Line at Site: Brooklyn (online), and Small Works with the Arts Council Wichita Falls in Texas.
Park was also recently interviewed by Bold Journey, where she discussed her practice and current projects.
Diamond E. Beverly-Porter

Fine Arts Center, Gallery 2—WSU, Pullman, WA
Professor Diamond E. Beverly-Porter presented a solo exhibition examining games as an artistic medium through the lenses of Black feminist worldbuilding, environment design, and digital storytelling. An artist talk was held on October 16th, followed by an opening reception.
Her work engages the historical and cultural legacies of Black life in the United States, centering Black women and girls as complex protagonists and reframing digital spaces through embodied knowledge and critical play. As one of the few Black game developers working in the field, Beverly-Porter continues to build culturally rich, narrative-driven interactive worlds.
Jacob Riddle & June T. Sanders
A Heretical Formation
Solar Noon Gallery, Cincinnati, OH
Professors, Riddle and Sanders, are featured in A Heretical Formation, an exhibition that examines divergent approaches to sculpture through analog and digital practices. Their works interrogate form, process, material misuse, and the boundaries between craft and high art. Themes of technology, rurality, and shared construction weave across the show, presenting a layered critique of aesthetics and material culture.
John F. Barber
Faculty member, John F. Barber, presented a talk about his new Re-imagined Radio broadcast on the topic of the legend D.B. Cooper at the Ridgefield Library this past November. Professor Barber shared the history of of the hijacking and escape of D.B. Cooper along with the primary sources from the investigation.
